When the app loads it will check if there are any new assets available. If there is, a pop-up will recommend using a WiFi connection to download the new data.
What are assets?
Assets is a collective term used to identify any files, images, or data that the game needs to run properly.
How big are these downloads?
Typically less than 50mb.
How come there are always asset downloads?
All Events require new assets in order to run, so these downloads will happen a minimum of three times per week, about 30 minutes before each Event starts.
When should I expect a download?
Event assets are typically available: (all times Pacific)
- Wednesdays at 1:30pm for 2pm start
- Sundays at 5:30pm for 6pm start
- Tuesdays at 10:30am for 11am start
Updates aside from the above could be due to a number of reasons, but usually involve bug fixes.
Can I get rid of old assets?
Yes, if you are looking to free up some space you can delete unused assets easily:
- Android
- Clear the cache for the app
- Device settings -> Apps -> Bud Farm Idle Tycoon -> Storage -> Clear Cache
- Clear the cache for the app
- iOS
- Reinstall the app (this won't lose your progress)
When the game loads again it will download only the currently needed assets.
Do I need to know which asset version I'm on?
The support team may ask you to provide your current asset version. It is displayed on the Settings screen in-game, at the very bottom.
